Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel

Corey: Hi! My name is Corey Quinn and I am the founder of We are a website that matches coaches with clients based on fit. I am here with Michael Casteel. He is a transformational life coach. He is also an author of “Defining the Radical Wholeness Transformational Program.” Welcome Michael.

Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel: Welcome. Thank you Corey.

Corey: Thanks for being here. Could you share with us, why are you a life coach?

Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel: I am life coach – really pretty simple because over the past decade, my number one passion and core purpose has been helping successful yet unfulfilled professionals that are seeking to be really happier and find more joy and juice in their life, find the wholeness instead, and there’s a story behind that that starts well with a 7-year-old boy – could I share?

Corey: Please. Please.

Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel: Okay. So it goes back to 7 years old. This little boy’s sad and depressed and frustrated because of his family dynamics. There was an incident that happened. He happened to grow up in a Baptist Church, so that’s part of the background, and this background at the Baptist Church, he knew that god was fair. So he said, “God, I’ll go ahead and be unhappy and sad as a little boy, but you got to promise when I get to be an adult, I’ll be the happiest man ever.” So right after college – it started in college, I tried to live up to that prayer and throughout college and in my 20’s, I was a poster boy for the positive movement and self-help movement and affirmations, all really just creating more self-sabotage in my life. So what I discovered is that the last thing enduring happiness, the deep joy that we all really want requires us to become whole first, what I call radically whole.

Corey: And through that experience you’ve – sounds like you’ve done a lot of that work?

Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel: Yeah. It starts with me. I am teaching what I most needed to learn. Yes.

Corey: That’s

wonderful. So, when should someone consider working with you?

Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel: Specifically, when they reach a certain amount of success in their lives and then they just kind of lost their juice. They are itching for either something to change in their relationship or something to change in their work life in terms of being more fulfilling or more in purpose. So really, most of my clients are between 30 and 60, kind of broad middle-aged and they have had enough ego success, so they’ve started asking the question, there must be something more, specifically around relationships, having difficulty of wanting more intimacy or work clients becoming more of an expression of your authentic selves.

Corey: Wonderful. I’d say it’s very valuable service you provide. Do you have an ideal client?

Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel: Yeah, well I kind of mentioned I guess the ideal client, just then someone probably around middle age – well the age is not as important as the itch for something more, the desire to live a more authentic, meaningful life. People talk about transcending ego and stuff like that. It’s not really about that, but it is about living a life that’s more dedicated to something more, more of an authentic expression of yourself in service to life, and anything less than that becomes unfulfilling.

Corey: So, as your experience as a transformational life coach, how important is a match between a coach and a client?

Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel: Well, I’d say it’s super important. The deeper the work, the more important. In fact, as you know Corey, the research, I think indicates pretty straightforward therapist and coaches, the number one predictor for me for success and change is the relationship between a client and therapist or coach, so really important.

Corey: Could you share with us a success story?

Transformational Life Coach Michael Casteel: Well, here’s a recent favourite, very recent. Two 40-year-old successful doctors, two beautiful children, on their first session, they come in they are miserable, they are moving towards divorce. They are separated, living in two different homes, arguing about how the children – even though successful, unhappy in their careers and the second session with us, the wife said that she had never felt so hurt and so gotten in all of their 20 years of marriage, and he said, I finally think I now know how to please her, and then six months later, through our work together, defining radical wholeness six month program, they have recommitted to their marriage and then invited me to be a part of that recommitment ceremony and they had changed – they are still being successful skilled doctors but they are working less hours, but in doing so in a way that is more aligned with their authentic self and the one true gift that they are here to live and give, and what else… what’s more… oh, the best part is they said they found this new spiritual kind of connection with each other and with life that feels authentic to them and has the doctor status stuff that was so much farther than life really be – I’ve witnessed them become, not actually holistic but have a spiritual life and relationship life that is a way juicier than any of the status that they’ve enjoyed in years.

Corey: That’s wonderful. What a great success story.
