Interview with Co-Active Life Coach Linda Wright

Corey: Hi! My name is Corey Quinn and I am the founder of We are a site that helps match coaches with clients based on fit. I am here with Linda Wright. She is a co-active coach. Welcome Linda.

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: Thank you.

Corey: Could you share with us, why are you a coach?

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: I am a coach because it brings two of my greatest loves together. Working with people is a must for me and challenge. I love tackling challenges, so I get to you know, work with people to overcome their challenges and help them become more successful.

Corey: Okay. And so, when should someone consider working with you?

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: They should consider working with me if they are not sure which roads to take, if they have that feeling that there is something that they should be doing, something that would really make them more fulfilled and they don’t know what that is, if their inner demons are talking to them and holding them back, you know, I can kind of sweep them off their shoulders. Anytime someone is working toward a goal and they are not being there as fast as they’d like to. That’s when they should call me.

Corey: Okay. And is there an ideal client for you?

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: An ideal client would be a leader. A leader of a business, a leader of a team, a leader of a project, someone who is trying to take an idea and take it to fruition, someone who is striving towards something. That would be my ideal client.

Corey: Mostly in the business context?

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: Mostly yes.

Corey: Okay. And so in your experience as a coach, could you share with us the importance of a match between a coach and a client?

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: Yeah. I think that’s critical. I think that if the coach and the client aren’t communicating on the same level, there is not going to be progress, and the relationship between the coach and the client is absolutely critical because the client has to be able to trust the coach and the coach has to be able to listen to what the client is saying and not saying. So, you will have to be able to, you know, intuit a little bit.

Corey: That’s right. Thank you. And so, could you share with us a success story?

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: Sure.

Corey: Okay.

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: A success story, and I will try and make this as vague as possible, but you will get the gist.

Corey: Okay.

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: I had a client who was not only having work issues, but having family issues, and we decided – we looked at his values and decided – he decided that family was pretty important for him and you know, maybe you should attack this in a different way. Maybe, you know, he should not look at this certain situation as a problem, but maybe as challenge, as an opportunity to learn something new, and he actually – what he actually accomplished was instead of being reactive to certain things in his family, he became proactive and became – he learned how to prevent those situations, how to turn those situations in a positive way and it really lined up with his value and he found a lot of happiness through that, and now we work on his work.

Corey: That’s wonderful. That’s great. Congratulations on that.

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: Thank you.

Corey: Well, thank you Linda for spending some time with us today. I appreciate it.

Co-Active Life Coach Linda: Thank you for having me.
